Considering the state of play in work culture, more than 50% of the people are working from home and would continue to do so at least till any further notice from their respective companies. Many of the giant and small corporates have even announced a permanent work from home option.

Since the norm is there for a long way, shouldn’t we try a different angle to our work or work from home to be precise. As much as we all are enjoying the perks and comfort of WFH, there is one more reality to it; MONOTONOUS WORKSTYLE.

After all human race is all about excitement, creativity, and the never ending zeal so how can we deal with this challenge at hand?

To start with, a workstation needs to be build by every person maybe in your room, living area, garden but most significantly a hindrance free. What all can be accommodated in this workspace — Chair, Table, Laptop, Extra Screen, Printer, Plants, Notepad and Pen, Water bottle, Highlighter and whatever your requirements are. So Basically the idea is to setup a workstation as per your own needs and choices to have that SENSE OF BELONGING. Next step is to befriend all of these by visualizing them as your colleagues to perceive AN EMPATHY CHECK. Setting up the workspace at a secluded area in your home would invite LESSER DISTRACTIONS AND MORE CONCENTRATION.

Working upon a workstation over working in your bed or sofa is going to draw A FINE LINE BETWEEN YOUR OFFICE AND HOME TIME which most of us are ending up in collaborating at the moment. Choosing a groomed or professional attire over your night suit or loose pyajamas is going to persuade you in DISCIPLINING YOUR TASKS. And once all this is achieved, the extra hours which you are going to get after finishing up your work timely or before that (which most of us couldn’t spare at the moment) could be utilized in exploring or widening your area of interest.

This was my take on work from home after experiencing months of this work style, this is the approach I've taken. Let me know yours ;)

BTW This is my workspace
